Fox Meadow Farm
An All Breed Boarding Kennel

Some of our guests
Fox Meadow Farm is a small boarding kennel for all breeds located in rural Landenberg, Pennsylvania.  There are just thirteen indoor/outdoor runs in the cement block building.  Heat is provided by the vented propane wall unit that can keep the inside quite toasty.  On hot summer days, temperature can be maintained from 10 to 15 degrees cooler than the outdoors by using a large exhaust fan at night to pull in the cooler air and using shade and closing all but the dog doors during the day.  Each run has a large bucket of water inside, which is freshened each day.  The kennel is constructed for easy clean-up, with water flowing into the septic tank and is cleaned daily.  We are licensed in Pennsylvania and inspected twice annually by Pennsylvania state dog law officers.
Guests are fed the same food we feed our show dogs:  Verus.  We have been very happy with the coats and condition of our own dogs on this food.  Because it is a complication for us in terms of storage and instructions for the kennel help, we charge $5.00 per day for feeding food you supply.  We find dogs rarely have problems changing to our food.  The kennel is behind the house and far off the road in what used to be a pasture, making for very pleasant surroundings.  There is a fence around the building creating a large yard.

Playtime
Fox Meadow Farm hours are
9-11 AM and 5-6 PM daily,
except that we are closed on Sundays.  We also close after the Christmas holidays thru January and February.  We can recommend other kennels in the area if you need to board at those times.

Reservations are required and we recommend that you call us as soon as you know when you will need space.  The kennels tend to fill up over major holidays and  June thru August.  Boarders must present their shot records and be up to date on rabies and DHP-P vaccinations.  We do not recommend Leptospirosis, Lyme or Corona and do not require Bordatella vaccines.

Please ring the doorbell on the front gate and/or honk your horn and then wait for us to let you into the yard.

Our fees are
$18 per night
$32 per night for your 2 dogs in the same run
$5   per day for feeding food you supply
$5   per day for optional 1/2 hour supervised play period in the fenced yard.  This service is available when our help has the time to do it.
You may bring bedding in the winter to keep your dog off the floor and a safe toy or two.  Please don't bring rawhide!

From I95 coming from the South:
Some folks say the simplest and probably the quickest way to Fox Meadow Farm is below:
      *I-95 to Maryland exit 109b
*MD 279 north  past the TA truckstop, to the second traffic light (Wawa on left hand side on corner).  Turn left (east) onto MD 277.
*MD 277 to the flashing yellow light. (Keep to the 30mph speed limit on this road.  I haven't seen anyone pulled over yet, but this is also one of
the few stretches of road upon which I NEVER see anyone speed.)
*Turn right (north) onto Appleton Rd.
*Appleton Rd. north  through 3 stop signs (last stop sign intersection crosses MD 273).  After 3rd sign, continue on Appleton Rd. about 1.7 miles.
JUST BEFORE crossing the state line into PA (marked by small blue "welcome to PA" sign on right and the change in pavement) Elbow Lane will
suddenly come up on the right.
      *Turn right onto Elbow Lane.
*Elbow Lane about 200 yds, then veer left at the fork onto Flint Hill Rd.
*Follow Flint Hill Rd through two stop signs.  At the third stop sign, turn right onto Good Hope Rd.
*Follow Good Hope Rd. (a windy twisty thing) about 2 miles.  During this time you will go downhill and cross a stream which is part of the White Clay Creek Preserve.  It is marked as such on the right by a wooden sign with yellow lettering.  After crossing the stream, you will soon begin to go uphill.  You crest the hill and IMMEDIATELY on the left hand side is a road
with a building behind it which looks about the size of a converted one room schoolhouse with lots of floor-to-ceiling windows facing you.  Turn left onto  the road (North Bank Rd) in front of it.
*Follow North Bank Rd. through two stop signs.  About a 1/2 of a mile after the second stop sign, North Bank Rd. comes to a "T" in the road where it intersects with Auburn Rd.  Turn right onto Auburn Rd.
*Follow Auburn Rd. about a half mile.  You will drive down into a creek valley with a earthen bank on your left and a yellow "squiggly arrow" (curvy
road) sign on your right.  Lois'  place will be on the left just after the sign; a hidden driveway, 254 Auburn Rd.  Turn left up the drive and you've
made it!

  Another way from the south:
*I95 north to Route 7 north.  Stay on Route 7
until it narrows to one lane in each direction.  In about a mile or two, look for Farm Meadows Nursery and
*turn left at that light onto Little Baltimore Road.
Stay on Little Baltimore (it turns into Newark Rd.) and
*turn left onto Laurel Heights Road.  At the end of Laurel Heights,
*turn right onto Penn Green Road and go 500 feet.
*Turn left on Auburn Road.  It is #254, the third drive on the right.  Fox on sign at end of drive.
