Boots is a very funny Corgi.  When she was 11
weeks old, she and her sister were at a puppy
shower party given for her sister by a group of
poodle breeders.  All of us laughed until we were
helpless and had tears streaming down our faces.
The two puppies careened around the living room
for about two hours, banking off the walls like
balls on a pool table, never stopping to catch a
breath - sound familiar?  Then the hosts let into
the living room the six white standard poodles,
who towered over the Corgis and who were terrified
of the Corgi puppies who herded the poodles into a tight group and held them plastered against the wall!

At the period of her life when my little terrorist was widely known as "The Bad Bootsie", she would drown her chew man every day. Upon greeting her each morning, the first thing I'd notice was Bootsie's chew man with his head submerged in her water dish, feet up in the air. This was not an accidental drowning as it happened every night until he finally had the stuffing knocked out of him!

Bootsie was an independent little puppy, always too busy exploring to cuddle. Confident. Afraid of nothing. Full of mischief and it always showed on her alert little face. You just had to laugh at her. When the sweet Amy Watt wanted to borrow a puppy to play with, Bootsie's name leapt to my lips as a good candidate to be civilized at Amy and Kevin's house along with the smart Stuart and the loving Lucy who could all teach her a thing or two. Bootsie loves to listen to Amy practice her flute, joyfully doing her own little dance to keep Amy going.

In the process of civilizing The Bad Bootsie, Amy even took on the project of learning show handling while teaching Bootsie her manners.  You can see the result. At Amy's first show as a handler in the breed ring and Bootsie's debut as a show dog, Bootsie behaved perfectly to win that 1st in 6-9 month puppy bitches. Bootsie is now known as "The Good Bootsie"!
